Great Testimonial

by Benn Coley : created on 30 May 2008

Hey all - take a look at this testimonial we got recently from one happy customer. I thought it deserved a page all to itself!

Cheers,
Benn

"We have recently had a wonderful long weekend away with friends at French Fusion.  This time we were looking for a different kind of holiday... one that we could take kids yet be looked after and attempt some adult time!

Before we arrived Amy asked us was there anything we would like her to purchase for us in advance.  Nappies, Wipes, Kiddie Foods the all essential beers and wines.  Brilliant, especially given weight restrictions and general baggage costs with the planes.  I had a good feeling about this holiday.

We knew it was going to be a success from the moment we arrived at the villa.  Our daughter immediately went to Amy.  She then ran off to the kiddies play area – a house, sandpit, tables and chairs, painting easel and picnic set – wow does this mean I’ll be able to sit and sunbathe!?!?!  Benn and Amy have a 2 year old son so they know exactly what toys are a winner.

The villa itself is beautiful.  All the rooms are decorated to a high standard, and the living dining area is light and airy.  What is more there is a lovely outside eating just off the dining room which means you can eat there with the kids and not be worried about the swimming pool.  Also, once the children are in bed, you are not too far from their rooms.

Our bedroom was perfect we had an interconnecting room via a bathroom to our daughter.

We didn’t go too mad on the excursions front, but we did try some local delicacies of the area.  We went to a duck restaurant – basically eating our way through a fresh duck.  We were a little nervous of going on a two  hour lunch with children in tow, but it was great.  This was like being in someones dining room with lots of space.  The children could sit on the floor and play with their toys while the adults ate and had the odd glass of wine.

We also did a spot of wine tasting while the children learned ??? (an instrument) and watched donkey’s with Benn.  Although Benn and Amy are not “babysitters” they did entertain and look after our children really well to enable us some time out to listen, relax and enjoy various activities.

My husband has a thing about surfing – he’s not particularly good at it but wants to have a go.  So another day trip was to visit Biarritz beach.  Benn and Amy came equipped with surf boards, wet suits, towels, buckets and spades, sun shade, coffee... you name it they had it!  Again another activity managed in the life after children world.

Eating.  I love food.  My daughter does not.  Every meal time is an (upsetting)  battle.  Amy made delicious home cooked food, and what’s more, fed Poppy.

On our last day the weather wasn’t very good.  Amy had arranged for a local (massage) therapist to come to the villa.  What a treat!  The husbands took the kiddies to the local swimming pool for splash time and the Mum’s relaxed in robes and comfy slippers.  There was such a lovely feeling of calm.

Then it was time to go home.  Friends who saw us later that day said how relaxed we were looking.  That was after a 2 hour flight plus an hours drive from the airport home.  We were very relaxed.... I hope I can go back soon.  Thank you Benn and Amy for making our holiday memorable, special but most of all easy."
